TypeWell Everywhere for Mac is just like TypeWell Everywhere for Windows, but runs on Apple Macintosh computers with OS 10.6 (aka "Snow Leopard") or newer.
Now you can use TypeWell abbreviations in any program on a Mac computer, not just while transcribing.
As with Everywhere for Windows, this product for Mac is available only to graduates of the TypeWell transcribing course.
Mac Everywhere brings several great benefits to Mac users:   First, you're free to "TypeWell" all the time, using the same abbreviations and typing speed-ups you use when transcribing. Second, with Everywhere you get automatic skill practice with every email, report, and instant message you write on your Mac. And finally, it's a TypeWell product with the nice Mac interface that Mac users are accustomed to!
How It Works
TypeWell Everywhere for Mac is a completely separate program from TypeWell Transcriber, and sits silently in the menu bar.
Pressing a shortcut key activates Everywhere within any program, and then you just type normally.
When you use TypeWell abbreviations, Mac Everywhere will recognize and expand the abbreviations as you type.
TypeWell Everywhere for Mac works with every program on your Apple Macintosh computer: Mail, Pages, Safari, and even Windows programs running within Parallels on the Mac.
Think of it as an upgrade for your keyboard, rather than for each separate program.
TypeWell Everywhere software works with the Mac keyboard to enhance your whole system, not just a few programs.
FAQs
I already have V5 Everywhere for Windows. Can I transfer it to my Mac now?
If you already own Everywhere V5 for Windows, you can to switch to Mac Everywhere V6 by paying just the upgrade price to V6. Or, you can keep Everywhere on your PC machine and purchase a new Everywhere license for your Mac.
Can I switch my V6 Everywhere license from a Mac to a Windows computer (or vice versa) later on?
Yes, when you purchase V6 Everywhere, you can install it either on a Mac or Windows computer. Your choice! You can only have one machine per license, but the license is transferable, so you can switch it over to a different computer (Mac or Windows) in the future if you want.
Will there be TypeWell Transcriber for Mac?
No, we do not have plans at the time to release other versions of TypeWell for the Mac.  TypeWell's classroom software (Transcriber/Reader/Duo) will continue to run on Windows, so Mac users will still need to run Parallels with Windows in order to use those programs.  This release is meant to help transcribers to keep up their abbreviation skills while writing emails, documents, etc. using their personal Mac.
Are there any limitations?
Be aware that because we have relatively few users of the Mac product, we cannot provide the same level of support as for the rest of the TypeWell line. For instance, there is a known problem that occurs with Mac Everywhere where it loses track of what's been typed and the semicolon quick-correct key highlights back an extra space, which can interfere with the next expansion. The solution is to click the mouse to reset the text caret, which resets TW's tracking. We'll fix any bugs as soon as we can, but in the meantime, Mac users will have to adapt by using a few of these "workarounds".
Not for Transcribing
TypeWell Everywhere is for transcribers' personal use only, and is not designed for providing communication access services in classes or meetings.
If you use a Mac computer for transcribing, you will still need to use Windows in Parallels to run TypeWell Transcriber, so that you can use speaker identifiers, linking, Math Mode, and all of the other Transcriber features.
Cost and Purchasing
The cost will be the same as the Windows version of Everywhere. Like TypeWell Everywhere for Windows, Mac Everywhere has a starter "Mini" version and a Standard version.
There will also be a special upgrade price for people who would like to switch their old Everywhere from Windows to Mac.
Visit the main TypeWell Everywhere page to learn more about prices and purchasing.
